Michalina Scorzelli is an award-winning actor, producer and director who specializes in content creation for feature films and television. She began her career as an actress in NYC appearing on stage, film and television. Her first audition led to being cast in the critically acclaimed film Nate Dogg (2003) that went on to win Best Debut Feature Film at the Raindance Film Festival.
Upon discovering a passion for film, and after the success of her producing and acting debut with Nate Dogg, Scorzelli’s prolific career took off. Her work has been seen on all platforms including in theaters, top festivals and many have received a wide array of accolades. Her short film Distractions (2008) was invited to numerous film festivals including Woodstock, Hollywood Black Film, Festival International du Film Pan Africa de Cannes, Nashville International, San Francisco Black Film, and more. It garnered numerous nominations and took home the Grand Jury Award at The Ruff Cutz Film Conference, Best Short Film at the Trinity Film Coalition, and aired nationally on BET and BET-J as a part of the series "Lens on Talent: A Filmmakers Challenge." Scorzelli’s anti-bullying short film, The New Weapon, won a myriad of awards and proudly is used in schools and youth courts across the U.S. as part of anti-bullying curricula.
Currently, Girl in the Palms, that she produced, stars in, and is directed by Jon Russell Cring, is on the film festival circuit and was the most nominated film at the Orlando Film Festival, including a Best Supporting Performance nod and winning the coveted Indie Spirit Award. Scorzelli also won the Best Supporting Actor award for her role in the film at the American Golden Picture International Film Festival. The delightful live-action family feature The Adventures of Snow White and Rose Red, that she produced and served as one of several directors, is now available on all major streaming and cable platforms across the U.S. and Canada.
After a string of successful directorial and producing credits, Scorzelli is stepping back in front of the camera to return to her original passion, acting. She has studied with Sande Shurin, the Meisner Technique at the NY School for Film and Television, and with acting coach Wayne Pyle.
A proud member of the Screen Actors Guild/American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, she has worked alongside actors including Christopher Penn, Anthony Michal Hall, Jamie Harrold, Tony Danza, Frank Whaley, Federico Castelluccio, and Kaili Vernoff, to mention just a few.
